Mid Devon Reliability Ride Sun 18th April

The club have registered this coming Sunday’s Reliability Rides as a British Cycling event.

Members can ride the routes alone, with a friend or in groups up to 6 for any cafe stop.

You will need to sign in at the table outside the club entrance at Abbrook anytime between 0830- 0930h, please bring your own pen!

There is no time limit but you must sign back in when you finish.

These rides are about the reliability of the rider, their bike, their ability to follow a route and being able to handle any of the normal eventualities that can occur on a ride.

All routes go up the valley then the 50km goes up Doccombe to Moretonhampstead for a cafe stop while the 80km and 100km turn right up Longdown.

The 80km cafe options are at Whiddon Down Services, Moretonhampstead or as some the groups have planned to do nearly all that ride and stop at the Blend & Brew pop up cafe in Teigngrace. There is a slight 80km alternative route to a cafe at Drakes Farm, Crockenwell, email for that file also.

The 100km – has a potential cafe stop in Bow, after passing through the edge of Exeter then back to Whiddon Down then Moretonhampstead while the 80km turns left over the top of Longdown to go to Tedburn St Mary then Cheriton Bishop, right to Yeoford then in Yeoford a sharp left to run back through Hittisleigh to Whiddon Down then Moretonhampstead.

All routes return from Moretonhampstead to Bovey Tracey where the 50km goes off to Liverton before Drum Bridges then Abbrook with the 80 & 100km going from Bovey along Old Newton Road over the A38 then Teigngrace and Abbrook.
