Race Report – Velopark Youth Races
Another great result for the Mid Devon CC Youth riders with Louie Priddle taking the win from Brad Messenger in second. Great to see Jamie Plummer back racing for us again as well. Louie recaps on the action below
Turned up to the race today feeling like I had a good set of legs on. Weather looked good with little wind which is always a bonus. 20 min warm up ticked off I headed over to the line for the debrief from the Comms. Debrief out the way the race then got under way with only 5 youth As racing. Stayed very tight working together taking turns out on the front. New MDCC recruit Jamie Plummer was out in the race along side Brad Messenger and we to be quite honest didn’t have any proper tactics for the race, but there is only so much you can do in a youth race as everyone is out to win it and as there was only four of us in our group (me, Jamie, Brad and Vc Venta rider Charlie Walters). Around 5 mins to go everyone still together in the group it was going to come down to a sprint. Not good. 1 lap to go – second straight – I went. I put a huge effort in to ride off the front which I ended up doing creating a gap between me and the others. Crossed the line taking my my third win of 2016 which I was very pleased with!
