South West Cyclocross Regional Championships

Exeter Wheels recently played host to the final round of the South West Cyclocross Series, which also featured the South West Regional Championships. The event took place at the well-established Escot Park course, attracting a total of 175 riders from the South West region. It was a fierce competition, as participants battled for podium positions in their respective categories.

Impressively, the riders from Mid Devon Cycling Club secured a remarkable nine podium finishes. They achieved four first-place positions, with young talents Frederick Simcock (Under 10 category), Lauren Fox (Under 14 Girls category), and Eva Fox (Under 16 Girls category) emerging victorious. Additionally, Matt Holmes secured an admirable second place in the Under 14 category.

The club also claimed four third-place finishes, showcasing their depth of talent across various age groups. Ben Ward (Under 12 category), James Allen (Under 14 category), Bayley Woodger (Under 16 category), and James Bovey (V50 category) all impressed with their podium-worthy performances.

Overall, it was an exciting and highly competitive event, highlighting the skill and dedication of the South West riders as they vied for regional glory.
