Velopark Youth Go Race Results
Saturday 24th January saw the first youth racing of the year at Torbay Velopark. A hardy bunch of youths across the age ranges turned out for the racing on a chilly but sunny morning.
The morning’s racing was split in to two, with the under 12’s going off first. There were some good examples of racing, in particular from Henry Howells (Cycle Sport South Hams), Ben Goldsmith (CSSH), Tilda Lakey (MDCC), Honey Renton (MDCC), Max Renton (MDCC), Harriet Crawford (MDCC), Luke Phillips (RUTrainingToday) and Ollie Bartlett.
The second race of the morning was for the older youths, under 16’s. Their course was set over the more technical side of the Velopark, with their winter training skills proving beneficial. The race featured a number of sprints, where the first 3 riders who crossed the line gained points towards an overall total. Oliver Twigger, Ben Cowdry and Henry Trudgill (all MDCC) proved the most consistent and took the overall honours.
